Cristina holds a master's degree from the Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo, where she specialized in metabolomics, dried blood spots and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). She researched how blood tests can become more accessible for patients for early diagnosis and prevention of diseases. The research also investigated how dried blood spots can be analyzed by NMR and the strengths of this analysis method compared to current LC-MS methods. The master thesis was published as a short communication in Talanta with the following title "Exploring nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for the analysis of dried blood spots".
